NC Raga Revival

NC Raga Revival is a biweekly concert series showcasing the Music the South Asian Diaspora and collaborations with other World Music artists. These concerts are family friendly, no shoes, and no booze.

Dr. Ajay Dholakia is a long-time Triangle resident. He comes from a family of Indian Hindustani Classical musicians and has been learning, playing and teaching Tabla in the area for many years. He started learning tabla during high-school days in Indore, India and continued learning after coming to Raleigh. During his graduate school days at NC State University, he also played percussion and tabla with different rock, fusion and folk music bands. Over the years, he has accompanied many visiting classical vocalists and instrumentalists, as well as gazal and sugam sangeet singers. He continues his tabla learning journey at the Anindo Chatterjee School of Tabla.
